Privacy Policy

Faith Map is a scripture-learning app. Reading and learning are free; an optional Plus membership unlocks additional features. This policy explains what we collect and why.

Stored on your device

Faith Map works without an account. Your faith track, guide, and language choices, your reading position, guest progress, prayer list, saved plans, and chapters downloaded for offline reading are stored in your browser or app storage, on your device only. The app also keeps a random anonymous ID on the device so we can count usage without knowing who you are. If you turn on location for prayer times, your coordinates are stored on the device and used on the device to calculate prayer times and the Qibla direction. This on-device data is not erased by deleting an account — clear your browser or app storage to remove it.

Information we collect

Account information. When you create an account, we receive your email address (or the identifier your sign-in provider shares, e.g. Google or Apple) through Firebase Authentication. We use it to sign you in, sync your progress, and manage your membership.

Learning activity. With an account, we sync your reading progress, completed chapters and lessons, streaks, and faith track so the app works across your devices. Language and guide choices are kept on each device.

Notes and journal. Study notes and journal entries you write are stored in our database so they can sync to your devices. Your prayer list stays on your device.

Profile and friends. If you create a profile or use Friends Circle, we store your profile details. Friend lookup uses a hashed form of email addresses — we never upload or store your address book.

Purchases. If you buy Faith Map Plus, our payment processors (Stripe on the web; Apple or Google in the apps) handle payment details. We receive only your membership status and plan — never your card number.

Usage and technical data. We record basic usage events (which screens are used, tied to your anonymous device ID or, when you are signed in, your account ID) and technical data such as IP address, device type, and crash reports, to run the service and keep it secure.

Support messages. Messages sent through the contact form are saved to our support inbox together with the email address you provide, so we can reply.

We do not collect health data or financial account numbers.

AI features

The companion chat, Ask a Verse, and scripture search run on Cloudflare Workers AI. When you ask for a personalized prayer, the situation you type is sent to OpenAI to write the prayer; it is sent without your name or email address, and OpenAI does not store it.

Location

Prayer times and the Qibla direction are calculated on your device from the coordinates stored there. When you use the worship finder, your device sends your location to Faith Map's server, which rounds it to an area of about 1 km before asking OpenStreetMap for nearby places of worship. Your precise location is not sent to OpenStreetMap and is not stored.

Notifications

If you turn on reminders, we store your push notification subscription and time zone so we can send them. You can turn reminders off at any time in the app.

How we use it

• Communicate about your account (e.g. receipts, membership changes)
• Detect abuse and keep the service secure

We do not sell your personal information.

Sharing

We share data only with service providers needed to run the app: Firebase (authentication), Cloudflare (hosting, database, and AI features), Stripe / Apple / Google (payments), OpenAI (personalized prayers), OpenStreetMap (worship finder), and Meta (advertising measurement, below). They process data under their own policies and our agreements with them.

Advertising measurement

Our website uses the Meta Pixel, a measurement tool provided by Meta Platforms, Inc. The pixel uses cookies and similar identifiers to collect information about the pages you view on havenmedia.app and certain actions you take, such as creating an account, and sends that information to Meta. We use it to measure how our advertising performs, reach people who may be interested in Faith Map, and improve our advertising. Meta processes this information under its own privacy policy. You can limit this collection through your browser settings, such as by blocking or clearing cookies, and you can control how Meta uses information for advertising in your Meta ad preferences.

Retention and your choices

• We keep account data while your account exists.
• In Profile → Your account & data you can download your data or permanently delete your account. Deleting your account erases your Faith Map data from our systems, cancels any subscription billed through our website, ends any family seats you own, and removes your sign-in account. Subscriptions billed by Apple or Google must be cancelled in that store.
• Data stored only on your device is removed by clearing your browser or app storage.
• You can manage or cancel Plus subscriptions through your device's app store or our billing portal.

Children

Faith Map is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we will update the effective date above and note it in the app.
