Faith Map Seasonal Journeys: How a Day-by-Day Seasonal Path Works

Some parts of the year already have a shape. Advent builds toward Christmas. Lent leads toward Easter. Ramadan and the High Holidays give their own weeks a particular focus. A seasonal journey in Faith Map is a way of walking through one of those seasons one day at a time, inside your own tradition, instead of deciding each morning what to read or how to begin.

This post explains what a seasonal journey is, how it works day to day, and what it costs. It uses the Advent journey as a worked example.

What a seasonal journey is

A seasonal journey is a guided path through a season, made up of daily reading, prayer, and reflection. Each day has its own portion, and the days follow an order, so the season builds as you go rather than starting again from a blank page each morning.

A journey stays inside one tradition. An Advent journey is a Christian journey. It does not mix in practices or readings from other faiths. That separation matters in Faith Map, where each of the ten traditions has its own texts, prayers, and practices, and each section is built to serve that tradition on its own terms.

A journey is also different from general lessons or from browsing scripture on your own. Lessons in Faith Map are free and stay available in the library for you to follow in your own order. A journey adds a calendar. It ties a sequence to a set of dates, so you and others following the same journey are reading on roughly the same day of the season, even though you each follow it in your own account.

The Advent journey as an example

The Advent journey runs for 28 days, from November 29 to December 26. It works through the Christmas story across those four weeks, a portion at a time.

A typical day follows a steady pattern. You open that day's reading, spend time with the passage, then move to the day's prayer and a short reflection. The reflection is there to help you notice what you read and carry one thought into the rest of the day. It is not a test, and there is nothing to submit.

Spreading the Christmas story across 28 days changes how it reads. Instead of hearing the whole account in one sitting in late December, you meet it in stages: the promises and announcements first, then the journeys and arrivals that Advent traditions have long reflected on in sequence. By the time the journey reaches December 26, you have spent the season with the story rather than arriving at it all at once.

If Advent is not your season, use it here simply as a picture of the format. Other journeys use the same day-by-day structure, shaped around the texts and practices of their own tradition and season.

How a journey works in the app

You can find seasonal journeys in Faith Map in Learn, under My Journey. In season, you will also see a card for the current journey on the Home screen, so you can return to the day's portion without looking through menus.

One day at a time

One day unlocks at a time. You follow the journey in order, opening the current day, completing its reading, prayer, and reflection, and then waiting for the next day. The structure is intentional. It keeps the focus on today rather than on the whole season at once, and it keeps the daily portion at a size that fits into a real day.

Your progress is saved in your account. If you read in the morning and return to the reflection in the evening, you can pick the same day back up.

If you miss a day

Seasons are busy. Work, family, travel, and illness do not pause simply because a journey has begun. If you miss a day, you simply continue. Open the journey again and carry on from where you are.

There is no streak punishment inside a journey. Missing a day does not reset your progress, remove days you have already completed, or mark the journey as failed. A missed day is treated as a pause, not as an ending. For many people, knowing that is what makes it possible to finish a season at all: they return the next morning they can, rather than abandoning the path because one day was lost.

What seasonal journeys cost

Seasonal journeys are included for Plus members. If you already have Faith Map Plus, the journey is available to you as part of that membership, with no separate purchase for that pack.

If you are not a Plus member, you can buy a single journey pack for $6.99. That purchase covers that one journey. It does not start a Plus membership, and it is not a subscription. It is a way to follow one season in full without taking on a membership you may not want.

In both cases, the free parts of Faith Map stay free. Scripture reading and lessons remain free whether or not you follow a journey, and prayer-library listening remains free. Chapter narration listening is a Plus feature, so if a journey day includes listening to full chapter audio, that part follows the usual Plus rules.

What is planned next

Advent is the starting point, not the full list. Lent is planned next, following the same format: a daily reading, prayer, and reflection path through the season, inside the Christian tradition.

Seasons from other traditions are also planned to follow, including Ramadan and the High Holidays. Those journeys are planned, not already available. They will be built inside their own traditions, with their own texts and practices, in the same way the Advent journey is built inside Christianity. When a new journey is ready, it will appear in Learn under My Journey.

If you open the app looking for a Lent, Ramadan, or High Holidays journey today, do not assume it is hidden somewhere in menus. Journeys live in one named place, and a planned journey will be listed there when it is ready.

Where journeys live in the app

One practical note, because people often look in the wrong place first: you'll find them in Learn, not buried in settings.

Open Learn, look for My Journey, and the current and available journeys are listed there. During a season, the Home screen also carries a card for that season's journey, which is a direct way back to today's portion. Settings is for your account and your preferences. It is not where content lives, and you will not need to go there to start or continue a journey.

A seasonal journey is a modest structure: a reading, a prayer, and a reflection, repeated across days that already mean something to you. It does not add a new obligation. It gives the season a path, one day at a time, and leaves room for days when life gets in the way.
