Faith Map: What Reading and Lessons Cost (Free, Explained)

When an app says "free," the reasonable question is: free until when, and free for what, exactly? This post answers that question for Faith Map in plain terms — what the app is, what costs nothing and will keep costing nothing, what a Plus membership adds, and what everything costs. No trial language, no fine print to decode.

What Faith Map is

Faith Map is an app for learning a faith the way you would learn a language: in small daily lessons, building real familiarity step by step instead of skimming summaries. It offers ten tradition tracks — including Christianity, Catholicism, Orthodoxy, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Sikhism — and you choose the track that is yours, or the one you are respectfully exploring.

Inside a track you read that tradition's scriptures, work through lessons along a path, and build a daily streak. Three guides are available to learn alongside: Scout the lamb, Ember the fox, and Pax the panda. You pick the guide you like; the lessons, reading, and daily practices are the same either way.

One point of design matters here: each track is built as that tradition's own section, with its own texts, vocabulary, and daily practices — not a blended mix. You can start in the app's learning view and see the tracks for yourself.

What is free, and free means free

Reading and lessons are free. Not free for seven days, not free for the first book or the first unit — free, as the standing arrangement of the app. Here is what that covers:

  • Scripture reading. Every scripture library in the app, across all ten tracks, is open to read in full.
  • All lessons. The complete lesson path in your track, including streaks and progress, with no units held back.
  • Prayer times and Qibla. For Muslim users, prayer times calculated from your own location, with a Qibla compass.
  • Rosary and prayer rope. The guided Catholic rosary and the Orthodox prayer rope are free to use.
  • Kids prayers. The children's prayers inside each tradition's own section.
  • Worship finder. Searching for a nearby place of worship.
  • Flagship daily practices. Each track's core daily practice — the practices described in that tradition's own section — is part of the free core.

That list is the heart of the app, and it reflects a deliberate choice about ordering: you must give before you take. You will never pay to pray, read scripture, or find a place to worship.

What Plus adds

Plus is about elevation, not access. It adds ways to listen, to take the app offline, and to control playback — useful things, built on top of a free core that already works without them.

  • Chapter-audio narration. Listening to scripture chapters read aloud is a Plus feature. Pressing play on a chapter is the clearest line in the app: reading the words is free, hearing them narrated is Plus.
  • Guided prayer audio. Narrated guided prayers are part of Plus. Note the distinction: listening within the prayer library itself is free — it is the guided audio experiences and chapter narration that Plus covers.
  • Offline narration. Downloading narrated audio to listen without a connection.
  • Playback power. Controls for listening sessions, such as speed and continuity options for longer listening.

If you never pay anything, you still have the complete reading and lesson experience. Plus is for people who learn by listening, commute with audio, or want the narration with them offline.

Coming soon, labeled as such

Three additions are in development and are not live yet: home-screen widgets, Kids Mode profiles, and an AI companion. We list them here so you can see the direction, but they are coming soon — nothing in this post should be read as saying you can use them today, and they are not part of what a membership buys right now.

Prices, stated plainly

One Plus membership covers the whole app and every track. There are no per-religion charges and no separate unlocks per book.

  • Monthly: $7.99 per month
  • Yearly: $59.99 per year
  • Lifetime: $149.99, once

That is the whole pricing structure. If you study two traditions, or your interests change from one track to another, the same membership follows you. If you never subscribe, the free reading, lessons, and prayer tools described above remain yours to use.

Family Seats with Lifetime

A Lifetime membership includes Family Seats. The owner can invite up to three family members, so a Lifetime household covers four people in total. Each seat is that person's own account, with their own track, lessons, and streak — there is no password sharing, and the owner can add or remove seats from their profile.

For a family where two or three people each want the listening features, this is usually the arrangement worth doing the arithmetic on, using the plain prices above.

Who this arrangement suits

Faith Map suits a reader who wants a daily habit: a chapter read, a short lesson done, a streak kept, a prayer time observed. It suits a parent who wants their child's prayers kept inside their own tradition's section. And it suits the curious explorer who wants each faith presented in its own words.

What it will not do is charge you for the basics and call that a business model. Reading is free. Lessons are free. Prayer is free. Plus exists for listening and convenience, priced once, plainly, for the whole app — because faith is beautiful, and learning it should start with an open door.

Frequently asked questions

Are Faith Map's reading and lessons really free, or is it a trial?

They are free as the standing arrangement of the app, not as a timed trial. Every scripture library and the complete lesson path in all ten tracks are open to read and use without paying, and prayer tools such as prayer times, the rosary, the prayer rope, kids prayers, and the worship finder are free as well.

What does Faith Map Plus actually add?

Plus adds listening and convenience: chapter-audio narration, guided prayer audio, offline narration, and playback controls for longer listening. Listening inside the prayer library remains free without Plus. Widgets, Kids Mode profiles, and an AI companion are in development and are not live features yet.

How much does Faith Map Plus cost?

Plus Monthly is $7.99 per month, Plus Yearly is $59.99 per year, and Plus Lifetime is $149.99 as a one-time purchase. One membership covers all ten tracks — there are no per-religion or per-book charges, whichever tradition or traditions you study.
